Artist Bio: Carla DeDominicis says she is working on her “third act.” After 38 years as a successful trial lawyer, practicing out of her building that now houses the Photographer’s Eye Collective in downtown Escondido, DeDominicis retired and took up the cameras she had put away since her first, brief career as a photojournalist at the now defunct North County Times Advocate. She specializes in wildlife photography, although she will shoot any street or travel photography opportunity that arises. Her work has been featured on the British Lion Aide Calendar, on National Geographic Your Shot, in Outdoor Photography Magazine, in the San Diego Natural History Museum, and in the 2020 National Association of Nature Photographer’s Top 250 images. Her photography has been included in three coffee table photo books published by Digital Photos. Last winter, she created a body of work from Yellowstone and Tetons National Parks that she called “The White Series.” The “Fox” was her favored shot among that portfolio.
