Artist Statement:
Over the years of photographing in the backcountry of San Diego County I have focused mainly on the larger scenes - the grand oak and sycamores, the canyons and mountains, the rivers. With these images, however, I found myself quietly drawn to the smallest nooks and corners along a path that hold within them a profound yet simple silence, a tangible sense of quiet aliveness, profoundly present and just themselves with no apologies for their existence or any need to be more than they are.
