Artist Statement
Photography, for me, is far more than the capture of a fleeting moment; it is a vessel for spiritual inquiry, symbolic storytelling, and an ever-deepening dialogue with light. It is the weaving together of what the eye perceives and what the spirit intuits. In Divine
Omens, I step into the threshold where the natural and the mythical intersect, constructing dreamscapes that honor both personal memory and collective myth. Through layered imagery, refracted and painterly light, I explore the relationship between feminine celestial figures and animal totems, each chosen for its sacred resonance.
The albino wallaby drifts through these visions with a sense of purity, awakening, and ancestral wisdom. The red-crowned crane ascends as a bridge of grace, longevity, great fortune, and harmony between realms; the Sumatran tiger emerges as guardian and embodiment of strength, ancestral wisdom, and connection to nature. The meerkat guards and watches, reminding us of vigilance, community, and shared responsibility. Together, these creatures become more than symbols; they are companions and guides, reflections of my own journey through vulnerability and resilience, instinct and intuition, mortality and transcendence. Through their presence, I invite the viewer to step into a world where the sacred reveals itself in layered light and imagination.
