Artist Statement:
Time and time again, I find myself at Mission Trails Park - in every season, walking down the Grinding Rocks Trail to where the river runs through the canyon, surrounded by old oak and sycamore trees, and over the ancient flat boulders where the Kumeyaay people, through the centuries, ground acorns into meal. It is a haven, a deeply quiet sanctuary. These images are from that silent place “between things seen and things unnoticed.” Every time I go there, something previously unseen makes itself known.
