Into the Woods Series
In this current body of work, I use intentional camera movement (ICM) and multiple exposures to transform ordinary landscapes into spaces of visual poetry and magic. I explore the quiet wonder found in a local park during golden hour, a time when light softens and the trees seem to whisper their secrets. By combining in-camera techniques with unique blending modes in Photoshop, I create layered images that blur the line between what is seen and what is felt. One of the images, A Fire Within, speaks to the spiritual energy that burns inside each of us, our inner drive, passion, and perseverance. The tree in the image appears illuminated from within, echoing that inner fire that fuels creativity and transformation. For me, this work is both grounding and transcendent, connecting the physical world with the metaphysical. It’s a reminder that even in the stillness of nature, something powerful and alive is always moving beneath the surface.
In Into the Woods, I lean into the whimsical and fairy-like atmosphere that golden light brings to trees and leaves as it dances through the branches. This image captures the sense of entering an enchanted forest, one where mystery, movement, and light blur the boundaries of reality. Using ICM allows me to paint with my camera, letting motion and time become part of the storytelling. The resulting image is both soft and glowing, like a memory or a dream you’re not quite ready to wake from. I’ve always felt there’s something sacred about trees, and through this work, I invite viewers to rediscover that enchantment. My goal isn’t just to capture beauty, but to create a sense of wonder, to remind us that magic exists in the everyday, if we’re open to seeing it. These images are my love letter to light, nature, and the unseen energy that connects it all.
