“I’m not Plastic: Complex Chemical Arrangement” is meant to be a light-hearted response to a body of work I did called “The Giver”. This was a series of color female nudes in water that explored femininity, fertility, beauty and connectedness. This new collection of black and white photographs is a play on that body of work but stripped of human complexities. These fully articulated dolls become humanistic… full of emotions and stories…when posed and lit as if they were living female forms.
As a woman I’ve worked hard to become something real and tangible. The dolls represent what I feel and see in a beautiful form with shapes and curves enveloped by light.
I’m not plastic,
My story and history are my own.
I’m arranged and adored.
Nude and bare, just like you
I am a Complex Chemical Arrangement
