Artist Bio:
Amanda Colón is a photographer born and raised in the Chicagoland area. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography with a concentration in fine art as well as minoring in Latin American studies and visual arts management.
Much of her work focuses on the strange and unusual, looking to emit uneasy and unsettling feelings through the images she creates; whether that be through architectural photography or digitally-manipulated images that are then printed using alternative processes.

Photo Process:
Taking a photograph of a chicken and one of a T. rex, the two are digitally manipulated into one image that was then printed as a digital negative. The negative is then used to print onto a square teabag emptied of its leaves and coated with cyanotype, resulting in the final 2.5x2.5” print.
