Process:
This image was captured on medium format film with a process known as light painting as part of my Alhambra Farwell series. After each lamp was on for ~10 seconds, I hand lit the room with a couple of different flashlights to ‘paint’ the scene as I wanted it to look. The resulting negative was scanned to create a digital file, which when printed on clear inkjet material became a negative I could contact print to a rag paper hand coated with platinum and palladium chemistry. This is exposed under UV light and processed in warm potassium oxalate.
