Artist Bio: Suda House is a photographer of national and international reputation living and working in San Diego, California. She is an emeritus Professor of Art and Photography, from Grossmont College, and during the past forty-five years, her photographs have been widely exhibited in the United States, Mexico, China and Europe. Recently, two series of work, the Aqueous Myths and Saving Grace, Photographs of the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades, were on view at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park, San Diego. The exhibition was titled The Water Holds Me, running from March-October 2023. Her earlier alternative photographic images from the 1970’s were included in select exhibitions at Pier 24 (2017), and a camera-less fabric piece from 1976 was shown at SFMOMA, for the Sightlines exhibit of 2022-2023. From 2013 to 2022, she collaborated with fellow photographers from Los Angeles in an innovative concept—The Museum Project—in which a select group of her Aqueous Myths were placed in over 70 museum collections throughout the United States and Europe. On view now, are selected images from two series, Sanctuary and Umbra at a recently opened new gallery in La Jolla titled: level of service not required.
