Artist Bio:
Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist Don Bartletti retired from the Los Angeles Times in 2015 and continues to exhibit, lecture, write and photograph for joy of the discipline, but now, without deadlines.
He began his newspaper career in 1972 at the Vista Press, 1 year after his tour of duty in Vietnam. He went on to the Oceanside Blade-Tribune, the San Diego Union-Tribune, before spending 32 years with the L.A. Times on assignments across the U.S. and in 35 countries. The soul of his video and still reporting were social conflicts and the causes and consequences of human migration for survival.
In 2003, he was awarded the Pulitzer for Feature Photography about Central American child migration and the 2014 Pulitzer Finalist for video and stills of child migrant farmworkers in Mexico.
Bartletti resides in the same home and gardens in Vista for the past 64 years, is married to Diana, has 2 grown children and 4 grandsons.

Director's Statement:
Welcome to our Second Chance Auction fundraising print auction. Along with our artists, we decided to give folks another chance to help our gallery and bid on an amazing photograph. The extended auction will go through December 31st. Lucky YOU! We thank the Photographers who believe in our mission and have kindly donated their work.

The Photographer’s Eye is now in our seventh year, and as we grow, we add great new things to celebrate. Our outreach program has blossomed, and we are serving more students as well as members of the photographic community with tours of our exhibitions and free classes. We have added new workshops, including historic printing techniques such as Photogravure and Salt printing, and we remain dedicated to education as a key part of our intended purpose.
Please consider supporting our non-profit mission through bidding on one or more of these superb photographic works as a gift or to enhance your living space.
