ARTIST STATEMENT:
Over the years, I have worked in many areas of photography, from photo labs and school photography to architecture, interiors, and e-commerce. These experiences taught me to photograph what is in front of me. My fine-art work, however, asks me to look deeper—to photograph what is often unseen. I am drawn to the poetry of fragments. A leaf becomes a landscape. Its veins become rivers. A branch becomes a gesture. I move close to nature until its familiar forms dissolve into lines, curves, textures, colors, and rhythms.” Cyanotype captivates me with the extraordinary beauty of blue—from deep, velvety indigo to delicate, luminous shades that seem to hold their own light. What makes this alternative process even more fascinating is the endless possibility of transformation: adding spices, bubbles, Saran wrap, vinegar, or other elements can create textures, marks creating unexpected variations. Each print becomes a mysterious collaboration between intention, chemistry, light, and chance. There is always a moment of anticipation when the image is revealed, because the final result is often surprising and entirely unique. This unpredictability is both the challenge and the inspiration of cyanotype. It invites me to experiment, to accept the unexpected, and to keep discovering new possibilities.
