Artist Bio:
Suda House is a photographer of national and international reputation living and working in San Diego, California. She is currently a Professor of Art and Photography at Grossmont College. She is a Trustee with the Museum of Photographic Arts. Presently she co-chairs the Visual Learning - Education Committee for MOPA.
Ms. House received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Southern California in 1973 and her Master of Arts from California State University, Fullerton in 1976. She was a 1980 recipient of a National Endowment of the Arts Emerging Fellowship and she has written extensively about photography, including her 1981 Amphoto imprint “Artistic Photographic Processes.”
During the past forty-five years, her photographs have been widely exhibited. In 1983, Suda was one of six California photographers selected by former MOPA Director Arthur Ollman to use the Polaroid 20x24 in the galleries of the Museum. In 1993, her earlier work was included in a retrospective of artists and photographers working in Los Angeles during the 1960's to 1980's entitled Proof, which was recently showcased in Aperture Magazine’s “Los Angeles”.
In 2012, Suda’s work was included in an exhibit at dnj Gallery, titled Then and Now, which was part of the year.
