Artist Bio: Kris Moore’s work addresses current events, social engagement, and protecting the natural world. Ms. Moore began her career in 1971 as a self-taught artist and sincere hippy. She studied photography, painting, stage lighting, and opera theatre at the Bloomington campus of Indiana University. Her interest in photography drew her to New York City where she worked as a commercial and fine art photographer. In 1984 she crossed the Hudson River to launch High Fire Commercial Productions in New Mexico. Her work expanded to include commercial video production, copy writing, producing, and video editing. She resides in San Diego where her current studio work includes photography, sculpture and drawing. Recent work has been included in exhibitions with the Photographer’s Eye Gallery in Escondido, the LA Center for Photography, Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado, the La Jolla Athenaeum, and a 10 year outdoor installation on the walls of the North Park Parking Garage in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood.
