ITEM 16 Donation by Robin North Title: Hudler School - Garcitas Community, Texas Media: Ware Cyanotype on Hahnemühle Platinum Rag Image Size: 11"x14" Framed: 16"x20" Valued: $350 Starting Bid: $150 Artist Bio: Robin North is a cultural research-based visual artist whose practice centers on photography, printmaking, and archival installation. Working with family archives from Texas Freedom Colonies, he treats prints, documents, maps, and field photographs as material for new visual structures. One primary site of his work is a historic Texas Freedom Colony founded by his formerly enslaved ancestors after Emancipation in the 1870s, a place that grounds his study of land, inheritance, and memory. North recomposes archival photographs, land records, and landscape studies through nineteenth-century processes and digital workflows. Attention to surface, scale, and sequence shapes his single prints, series, and book works. His images trace how time, inheritance, preservation, and land intersect in the lives of descendants. His mission is to preserve ancestral intelligence, memory work, and archiving with care as acts of descendant placekeeping and ancestral stewardship. Linking studio practice and fieldwork, he treats the photograph as an object that carries material and ancestral weight. North holds a BFA in Photography and Digital Media from the University of Houston and an MFA in Art from San Diego State University. Robin North Website: RobinNorth.info Insta: @polaristruenorth
