Light, the magic required for Photography. The derivation of our Art’s term, drawing with light.
Light literally shapes what we see. It creates space, form. Light helps to define texture, edges, illusion, shadow.
There are sources of light, styles of light, angles of light, we can step into the light, Throw light on, set light to. Light can reveal and we can see the light. Many idioms.
We watch the play of light on our subjects to capture the description, meaning, feeling that will define the significance we are trying to express.
